What to See in Costa Blanca

Selecting a memorable holiday destination is a lot more difficult than it would seem. There are so many well-known tourist hot spots around the world –each with its own unique flavor – that the list might seem altogether overwhelming. Because you’re likely to make a substantial financial investment in your trip, and because opportunities to take trips only present themselves every once in awhile, you’ll want to make sure that you choose a destination that’s right for you.

Consider what is important to you during your precious time away from work: relaxation, education, and exploration all come to mind as potential travel motives. The Costa Blanca is one location that combines a bit of everything, and as you research what to see in the Costa Blanca, you’ll discover that you can’t go wrong if you choose it.

Many interesting villages are scattered about this east coast region of Spain, and most of them offer great opportunities for holiday bases or day trips. Alicante is the busy center of the Costa Blanca region, and it serves up plenty of tourist-friendly resorts and beautiful baroque architecture left over from its days as a thriving Spanish seaport. The undisputed epicenter of the village is The Esplanada de Espana, a pedestrian walkway lined with palm trees that plays host to many unique shops and restaurants. Off the beaten path, you’ll find a number of ancient cathedrals built centuries ago; be sure to bring your camera for some incredible photo opportunities!

If you’re not looking for a bustling tourist environment, there are plenty of other choices as you consider what to see in Costa Blanca. Altea is an old fishing village that still retains its “old town” charm. Cobblestone streets and picturesque cottages overflow from this scenic spot, and you’ll find that day-to-day life has remained mostly untouched from the international tourist flavor that much of Spain has succumbed to. Wherever you decide to base your holiday in Costa Blanca –or wherever you select to spend a day trip or two – remember that there is something for everyone as you travel up and down the coast in this beautiful region of Spain.
