Shopping in Costa Blanca

When you think of the word “holiday,” lots of activities probably come to mind. Relaxing, exploring, dining, and nightlife are all important facets of any successful trip, and you’ll want to do all the planning necessary to ensure that you set yourself up for pleasant experiences. But don’t forget about the other small details, the ones that will do more to make or break your holiday then you might expect.

Shopping is one such detail. Many travelers like to bring home keepsakes from their travels, and keepsakes almost always are found during shopping outings. Plus, you might find some unique clothing, house wares, and art at your destination site that is unlike anything else you’ve ever seen. Shopping in Costa Blanca is plentiful and culturally-influenced, and you should be sure to take advantage of it.

Benidorm is one of the largest towns in the Costa Blanca region, and it stands to reason that it would serve as host to the largest shopping districts. Avenida Martinez Alejos, located in the Old Town district, is a pedestrian street that is lined with one-of-a-kind craft, clothing, and art shops. Tourists flock to this site because of the unusual products of Spanish influence. Other shopping centers in Benidorm, such as the Passeig de la Carretera and Plaza Major, are well known for their leather products and fine clothing.

All the best shopping in Costa Blanca is not limited to Benidorm, however. The town of Altea is a famous haven for artists, and the many shops containing pottery, watercolor paintings, and handmade jewelry serves as evidence of this fact. Crevillent, meanwhile, is a town that is renowned for its luxurious rug and carpet factories. Though such items will be expensive to ship home, you’re likely to never encounter products of such high quality on all the rest of your travels. Don’t spend all of your days in Costa Blanca sleeping on a sandy beach; take some time to explore the village streets and discover all the interesting shops along the way.
