What to Do in Costa Blanca

Some people look to their holiday as a chance to unwind from the daily grind and relax on some exotic beach. There are many places worldwide that brag of pristine beaches and beautiful blue ocean. Most of the greatest destinations, however, have more to offer than a pretty place to lay down your beach towel. The Costa Blanca, for example, is rich with culture, fun, and shopping in addition to its famous Mediterranean beaches. Everywhere you look on this stretch of eastern Spanish coastline, you’ll find interesting ways to keep yourself busy. Whether it’s a visit to a zoo, a day spent sailing, or a tour of an ancient cathedral, you’ll never have to look too far as you consider what to do in the Costa Blanca.

One of the best qualities of the Costa Blanca as a tourist spot is that it has something to offer travelers of all ages and interests. If you’re an animal enthusiast, you’ll find that your choices are particularly plentiful in this region of Spain. Located in the town of Benidorn is MundoMar, a marine and exotic animal park. Different sections of the park highlight different breeds of animals, including tropical birds, dolphins, sea lions, and penguins.

If you’re up for some adventure, there’s plenty of it on the Costa Blanca. Also in Benidorn is a water park called Aqualandia that offers swimming pools, water slides, and aqua-rides. Terra Mitica Park is nearly an hour’s drive from Benidorn, and it is a fully-functioning amusement park with some of the wildest rides you’re likely to find anywhere in the world. Overflowing with spectacular roller coasters and other stomach-wrenching rides, even the bravest adventurer will be surprised at the quality of thrills in store.

Much of what to do in Costa Blanca revolves around the water, given its coastal location. Scuba diving, snorkeling, and boat rentals and charters wait at nearly every village along the coast. Whenever you’re ready for a break from the beach, you’ll have a seemingly overwhelming stock of options for ways to thrill yourself during your holiday in this beautiful region of coastal Spain.
